“The Kraken” Alfred Lord Tennyson

Below the thunders of the upper deep,
Far, far beneath in the abysmal sea,
His ancient, dreamless, uninvaded sleep
The Kraken sleepeth: faintest sunlights flee
About his shadowy sides; above him swell
Huge sponges of millennial growth and height;
And far away into the sickly light,
From many a wondrous grot and secret cell
Unnumber’d and enormous polypi
Winnow with giant arms the slumbering green
There hath he lain for ages, and will lie
Battening upon huge sea-worms in his sleep,
Until the latter fire shall heat the deep;
Then once by man and angels to be seen,
In roaring he shall rise and on the surface die

Childs Laughter

ALL the bells of heaven may ring,
All the birds of heaven may sing,
All the wells on earth may spring,
All the winds on earth may bring
All sweet sounds together—
Sweeter far than all things heard,
Hand of harper, tone of bird,
Sound of woods at sundawn stirred,
Welling water’s winsome word,
Wind in warm wan weather,

One thing yet there is, that none
Hearing ere its chime be done
Knows not well the sweetest one
Heard of man beneath the sun,
Hoped in heaven hereafter;
Soft and strong and loud and light,
Very sound of very light
Heard from morning’s rosiest height,
When the soul of all delight
Fills a child’s clear laughter.

Golden bells of welcome rolled
Never forth such notes, nor told
Hours so blithe in tones so bold,
As the radiant mouth of gold
Here that rings forth heaven.
If the golden-crested wren
Were a nightingale—why, then,
Something seen and heard of men
Might be half as sweet as when
Laughs a child of seven.

~ A Child’s Laughter – Algernon Charles Swinburne

It’s okay to fall down now and then – what matters is that you get back up.💥💥

It’s okay to fall down now and then – what matters is that you get back up.

As survivors and supporters of survivors of abuse, we are inundated with messages that praise strength. Social and mainstream media all seem to portray strong willed, resilient people as heroes, people to look up to and imitate. Of course, that is very true but it can also be very tiring to keep on being strong when inside you feel like everything is spinning out of control.

I am sure that I am not the only one who has soldiered through the day, proclaiming to be fine, then cried in the shower, been unable to eat, woken petrified in the dead of night from nightmares and so on. I can well recall many times when I felt so sick and tired of being strong, and just wanted to give up completely. Those who call me strong don’t know about the times when I still lay awake for hours with my heart and mind racing, or about the silent tears I shed. Almost every other survivor or supporter that I have spoken to admits to much the same things.

Let’s make it clear though – getting through abuse and being strong is not about never feeling depressed or angry, it’s not about being permanently in control and calm. It’s about facing and accepting all of the self doubt, the fear, the frustration, anger, trauma and pain and deciding that those things are not going to beat or define you. It is not a straight or easy path to follow and there is no map or GPS to guide you, but you struggle on anyway, sometimes taking wrong turns and getting lost but always finding your way back eventually – that is surviving.

Whether you have lived through abuse yourself or you are supporting someone who has, self care is very important. You cannot be there for others or for yourself without being kind to yourself.

Some of the things that you can do to help you deal with stress, trauma and anxiety are; practice mindfulness – living in and appreciating the moment, eat well and regularly, get some exercise, get outdoors for a while each day, go barefoot, do something you enjoy, learn to appreciate being alone and quiet sometimes, be creative, listen to music, accept the support of others, avoid negative people, try to get enough sleep, speak to your GP if you are struggling and need some professional help. Most of all, don’t be afraid or ashamed to ask for help. There will be days when even getting out of bed seems like an insurmountable hurdle – celebrate the little victories unashamedly.

We all fall down sometimes, what matters is that we get back up and grow stronger from it. Life may not be easy but it is worth it. One step forward and two steps back doesn’t have to
be a failure, just make it part of the dance. (GE)

You are the Victim be Kind to you 💥💥💥

Survivors of child abuse need to know that it was not their fault, they did not deserve it and the shame belongs to their abusers not to them !

The future lies in our children – all of our children – even (or especially?) the abused ones.

As a survivor of abuse myself, and the mother of abused children, as someone who has spoken to countless survivors and studied the research and statistics, I strongly believe that the way to end child abuse lies in how we deal with those who have been abused. That is one big reason why I am so very proud to be a part of the FACAA team.

All too often, children who suffer any form of abuse, be it neglect, psychological, physical, emotional or sexual, feel that they have somehow deserved that abuse. They take it all on board and internalise it in ways that will haunt them for many years. On top of that of course is the actual trauma itself and the reactions and ripple effects from that.

Many develop PTSD, Complex PTSD, drug and alcohol issues, depression, relationship and trust issues, self harming behaviours and suicidal ideologies to name a few of the problems faced.

We know from the research on Critical Incident Management used around the world for assisting first responders that PTSD can be avoided if the traumatic event is dealt with swiftly and carefully. Very often of course, disclosures are made many years after the abuse has taken place so in those cases it cannot be avoided and it cannot always be avoided in cases where the abuse is immediately evident either.

What can be done though, in each and every case, is to ensure that that child, or those children, are cared for comprehensively, respectfully and professionally as soon as practically possible. We need this to become common practice, right across the board, with every agency that deals with abused children. We need to let those kids know that it was never their fault, that they did not deserve to be treated that way, that the shame is not theirs and never was theirs.

Taking the abuser or the child away is never enough. Telling the child things like “It’s over now”or “just try to forget about it” can actually do more harm in some ways, making them feel that it is not okay to keep thinking or talking about what has happened to them.

We need to be ready to hear them, to validate them, to care for them, to nurture and support them – right from the very beginning for as long as they need us.

If we can do that, we will be a lot closer to ending not only abuse but many of the problems faced by communities across Australia. Our future is in our hands, as are our children. We need to step up and shoulder that responsibility before it is too late.

Please note – this post is not in any way meant to imply that all people who have been abused will develop mental health, drug and alcohol, or other problems and it is not intended to offend anyone. I am simply talking about what we know for a fact becomes the reality for a large percentage of survivors (GE)

FEAR

Most beautiful people of this new age, you are called to be at one with all life here and in the Heavens. To leave behind the egos of the past that have kept you in sickness and the destruction of all the beauty that surrounds you.
You may ask who do I talk about when I talk of the destructive ones here on earth. Of course your leaders are a representative of your thinking, but for all who live each day as it was thousands of years ago and still maintain the same systems today.
During this life you are in now, you have created opportunities to bring a new vision , a new way of being the enrichment of who you are, but most still surround themselves with the same friends, maintain familys of the old thinking and chain yourself to them and never to be free until you take your last breath, but then will you be free. While you are walking around you play the game of this person can fit into your life here, or there. Your ego gives only thought to how and who will be of service to you. Remember what I said about your last breath on earth, it is then transferred to a place of your creation and your old system of thinking and being will continue. Sickness , wars, loneliness, ruled over by people like yourself.
Your ego has no glory in it for it places you in isolation to control your world around you even when it may have brought you nothing but pain, your ego is that of the army of the fallen ones and is in opposition to God and all thing beautiful. You are not the isolated person you are from the galaxies but a part of them and you are a part of the one that unites you in the love of life. You are one with God. This you must choose and live now, for your chance to be the one who lives in the Glory of God will one day be gone and to cry out to The eternal who is all life and want to be a part of it without the illusion of Ego (on your own and in charge) then now is your opportunity to do so. When you have a event take place in your life that of a love one dying, or leaving, this is the time you make changes to your life to live as one with honoring all life and give Glory to the God of love. Let not yourself try and plug the gap in your life with someone who has left for someone else unless you are going to change your whole life with the values of love . They talk of the wisdom of the aged, in most cases the aged have maintained the old ways and continue to do so.The young create a new ways of control and also maintain the old ways.
I call out to you now. You are the called ones, You are the children of God whom all glory and as one with our Lord we will lead the way home. Understand Home is a vibration of Love and it will lift you on that day to the Heaven where all live as one in health and joy.

DREAMS

In days of yore there were very able dyers in Marwar or Rajputana. They would give seven
colours to the sari or clothes of ladies. After washing the cloth one colour will fade away. Another
colour will shine. After some washing a third colour will manifest in the cloth; then a fourth colour
and so on. Even so the mind is coloured when it associates with the different objects of the world.
When the mind is Sattvic, it has white colour; when it is Rajasic, it is tinged with red colour; when it
is Tamasic it has a black colour.
The mind plays with the five senses of perception and gets experiences in the waking state.
The impressions are lodged in the causal body or Karana Sarira. Ajnana or causal body is like a
black sheet of cloth. In it are contained the Samskaras of all your previous births.
The mind is ever rotating like a wheel. It receives the different sense-impressions through
the avenues of the senses.
In the dream state the doors or windows of the senses are shut. The mind remains alone and
plays. It is the subject and it is the object. It projects various sorts of objects like mountains, rivers,
gardens, chariots, cars, etc., from its own body from the material collected during the waking state.
It manufactures curious mixtures and marvellous combinations. Sometimes the experiences of the
previous births that are lodged in the causal body flash out during the dreaming state.
Remove the colouring of the mind through meditation on Atman. Do not allow the mind to
run into the sensual grooves. Fortify yourself by developing the Vijnanamaya Kosha or intellect
through Vichara or enquiry of Brahman, reflection and contemplation. The Vijnanamaya Kosha
will serve the purpose of a strong fortress. It will not allow the sense-impressions to be lodged in the
causal body. It will not allow the impressions of the causal body to come out. It will serve a double
purpose.
You will be free from dreams through meditation on the Supreme Being or Brahman when
the colouring of the mind has been removed.
Brahma Jnanis or Sages have no dreams.
May you all attain the Turiya or the fourth state of eternal bliss, which transcends the three
states of waking, dream and deep sleep!
